The reversible Thermalite jacket has alternative face fabrics, so you can adapt to different conditions. Insulation comes in the form of synthetic Hydroloft Elite, which retains heat even when damp, and also dries fast. Pack and harness compatible pockets, articulated sleeves and a snug hood allow you to keep moving freely in comfort.
Our Verdict
A reversible insulated layer that gives you two noticeably different ways to wear it.
The Berghaus Theralite Versa Jacket weighs 221g (Medium) and uses 40g/m² Hydroloft Elite insulation, but the bit I like most is the reversible construction. The two sides use different face fabrics, with one offering more wind protection and the other allowing more air through.
For me, that makes the reversible design feel worthwhile, not just a gimmick. I can see the more protective side making sense when conditions are colder and breezier, then flipping it when I am working harder and want to lose heat more easily.
I also like that the rest of the jacket stays fairly simple, with a close-fitting hood, articulated sleeves and pack-friendly pockets.
