Role Specification: 

Website Merchandiser

Job Summary

The role of the Merchandiser is to drive online success through optimising the presentation, integrity and organisation of the website and products. The post will involve refining product listings, implementing price changes and improving the customer experience. The post holder will work under the direction of the Purchasing Manager but also under their own initiative to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard in order to meet organisational goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise product listings on the website
  • Implement seasonal price changes
  • Ensure all obsolete products are identified efficiently and work on sell-through initiatives
  • Review product ranges and identify trends
  • Set up seasonal forward orders in a timely manner
  • Support the Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Assistant with sell through information, identifying trends and placing stock orders
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Web Teams to ensure merchandising and customer needs are met.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Competent analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong organisational and task management skills
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well
  • Previous experience with website platforms desired
  • Interest in the outdoors and good product knowledge desired.

Accountable to: Purchasing Manager
