Armed with premium, durable 20D (top) and 40D (bottom) nylon, Tensor All-Season is better protected against punctures and tears, and — like all NEMO sleeping pads — it includes a Vortex™ pump sack. Vortex effortlessly mates with the pad’s zero-profile, microadjustable Laylow™ valve for easy inflation in just minutes.
Our Verdict
The Nemo Tensor All-Season sleeping pad is an ultralight technical pad designed for all seasons, as the name suggests. This 3 ½ inches (8.9cm) thick, plush pad features a dimpled sleep surface with Nemo's 'Spaceframe' baffle construction. It minimises bounce and creates a stable surface that evenly distributes weight, making it an ideal choice for side sleepers. The pad is constructed from superior quality recycled ripstop nylon, with a 20D fabric on top and a more durable 40D fabric on the bottom. The pad boasts an impressive r-value of 5.4, with insulation provided by two "Thermal Mirror Metallised Film" layers suspended throughout the mat. These layers reflect body heat back toward the sleeper and are suspended to minimise rustling or crunching sounds.
The mat includes Nemo’s Vortex Pump Sack, one of the most efficient pump sacks I have used (for reference, I tested out the regular wide Tensor All-Season, and it took less than six blasts of the Vortex to inflate the pad fully). The Vortex Pump Sack fits snugly on the newly updated “lay low” valve, which works as a one-way valve for inflation and as a dump port to rapidly deflate the pad when it’s time to pack up camp.
