Six Moon Designs Serenity Bug Shelter is an enclosed inner 'tent' with a deep bathtub groundsheet that uses a trekking pole as support. Use it on its own or with the Gatewood Cape.

Six Moon Designs says: The re-designed Serenity support an 8" deep bathtub floor. In addition it's been cantilevered for better headroom. Plus we've added additional re-enforcement on the guy-outs.

Sometimes the best solution is the simplest. The Serenity NetTent provides a simple solution to keeping those creepy crawlies and pesky mosquitoes at bay. Its small floor size lets it be setup in most any place. Unlike bivies with the mesh draped directly on your face, the Serenity's 45 inch height lets you sit up in comfort. You can sleep comfortably knowing that some mosquito won't be biting you through the mesh.

The Serenity has a large oversize door to make entry and exiting easy. No need to shimmy out of a long tube. Nor do you need to detach it from the cape when exiting. The ends of the Serenity are lifted several inches. This effectively lengthens the floor and raises the netting off your face.

For hikers on the Appalachian Trail who spend many nights in shelters. The Serenity is the perfect companion. Since it takes up no more space than a bivy you won't be crowding out your neighbors. Yet it's easy to hang from the roof and guaranteed to keep the mice at bay.

The Serenity is the perfect mate for the Gatewood Cape together the two make a great light weight double wall tent.On nice nights simply set it up by itself and you've got a great star gazing shelter.

Our Verdict

Six Moon Designs' Serenity Bug Tent can be used on its own but most people will want to pair it with the Gatewood Cape and Tarp Shelter - or the Deschutes Tarp. You need a trekking pole or some sort of support for it at 114cm long or thereabouts. We like the corner supported bathtub groundsheet - and deep tub sides making this a really effective bit of kit.
