Our Verdict
At 63g, the Silva Seek 450 Cord Recharge is a seriously compact headtorch with a neat retractable cord headband. It packs down smaller than a conventional headband and pulls out quickly when you need light around camp.
For me, that convenience comes with a trade-off. The cord isn't as comfortable as a proper headband over long periods, so I see this more as a camp light than something for regular night hiking.
The 10-lumen low mode is particularly useful in a tent or around a campsite, while the red light and USB-C charging add to the practicality. I also like that it can be used as a handheld light when needed.
