Light, fast-moving shorts for summer hills
Salewa says:
Listen to your body, follow your own pace, you set the tone. A lightweight, fast-drying softshell short – ideal for aerobic speed hiking activity. The PFAS-free water-repellent finish gives it light rain resistance. Its athletic articulated fit and ergonomic cut ensure good freedom of movement. With two open hand pockets, and a rear zip-secure mesh pouch pocket. Our lightest speed hiking short.
Our Verdict
The Salewa Pedroc DST Light Shorts are made for warm-weather hiking, speed hiking and lightweight backpacking. At 136g (Medium), they feel very light, with Durastretch fabric that moves easily on steeper ground and dries quickly after showers or damp grass.
The athletic fit keeps them neat when moving quickly, while the adjustable waistband lets you fine-tune the fit without needing a belt under a pack. I like the simple pocket layout too: two open-hand pockets for easy access and a zipped rear mesh pocket for a key, card, or small snack.
The PFAS-free water-repellent finishprovidess a little extra protection during passing showers, but the main strength is comfort during warm, active use. For summer hill days, fast trekking, travel and lightweight backpacking, they look like a practical, easy-wearing option.
