Light cargo storage for fast summer walking
Salewa says:
Designed for mountain activity shared with like-minded individuals. Our best-selling cargo short is back in an updated design. Its lightweight, wind-resistant softshell and PFAS-free water-repellent finish make it ideal for fast-moving alpine use in changeable conditions. With two laser-cut, zip-secure cargo pockets, low-profile adjustable waist, and reflective details.
Our Verdict
The Salewa Pedroc 4 DST Cargo Shorts are lightweight softshell shorts for fast hiking, travel and warm mountain days. At 157g (Medium), they feel trim and easy to move in, while the 106g/m² Durastretch fabric gives enough stretch for steeper paths.
Salewa was founded in Munich in 1935 and is now based in Bolzano, in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. That alpine background is evident here in a short built around low weight, movement and practical mountain weather resistance.
Two zipped cargo pockets give secure storage without adding much bulk. I also like the low-profile adjustable waistband, as it lets you fine-tune the fit without needing a belt under a pack.
