Big Agnes is a small company with mountains in their backyard. Inspiring others to get outside is at their core.
From their line of water-saving Solution-Dyed tents to the TwisterCane™ BioFoam Pads made with sugarcane resin, and Crag Lake Tents made from recycled materials, Big Agnes is committed to reducing their impact on the local and global environment through their manufacturing, facilities’ operations, and day-to-day practices.
With a constant eye on reuse, and three US facilities powered through 100% renewable energy offset programs, Big Agnes strive to incorporate practices from design ideation to end-of-life solutions that protect the outdoors. Their social impact extends beyond the gear they manufacture, as they partner with over 20 organizations that make meaningful changes in protecting public lands, supporting sustainable practices, and leading in equality and inclusivity.
One Hell of a Ride.
Big Agnes began over 20 years ago with the goal of building better gear to encourage people to go camping. It was a simple idea rooted in providing comfort to brave souls sleeping in the backcountry and keeping them on their sleeping pads. Who could have imagined that two decades later they would be making award-winning gear, changing the sustainability game with solution-dyed tent fabrics, and helping people haul all that gear in backpacks?
The demand to enjoy, protect, and preserve the outdoors has only grown stronger. Big Agnes continues to outfit and inspire all individuals with the gear they need to camp in comfort, explore public lands, and have fun. Like their customers, they are more motivated than ever to get out on the trails and set up camp, again and again.
Mountain Built.
Based in a ski town in northwestern Colorado, Big Agnes operates in an outdoor paradise, with testing grounds in clear view of their office. The Continental Divide Trail features some of their favorite spots for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking, while the Mount Zirkel Wilderness calls to them with its high alpine summits. The Yampa River flows just a stone’s throw from their office, making it common for staff to take quiet lunch hours to find fresh air or new tracks.
At its essence, outdoor adventure comes down to the simple act of camping, spending nights on the ground, gazing at the stars, and listening to crickets is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
