Our Verdict
The Lifesystems Water Filter & Purifier Bottle has quickly earned a place in my pack for situations where I can’t count on the water supply. Filtration targeting bacteria, protozoa and viruses is ideal for international travel or remote trails where a basic filter just won’t do.
At 260g including the filter and a solid 1000ml capacity, it’s not the lightest option out there, but it’s efficient. Flow resistance is noticeable at first, though I quickly adapted. Water from taps and mountain streams came through clean and noticeably improved taste. No pumping, squeezing, or setup—just fill and drink.
Care is refreshingly simple. The filter cartridge pops out easily—give it a good shake, then leave it to air dry thoroughly (up to three days). The rest of the bottle can be hand-washed with warm, soapy water. Don’t be tempted to use any cleaning agents on the cartridge, and keep it out of the dishwasher.
