A lighter, tougher take on a trusted classic with a welcome nod to sustainability
Terra Nova says
The Voyager Lite is designed for those who need a tent that balances low weight with all-season reliability. As a long-time favourite among backpackers and trekkers, this new version retains the semi-geodesic structure that has made the Voyager a go-to shelter for four-season use while introducing a lighter, more sustainable design. For 2025, the Voyager Lite features our new TriPlex™flysheet, enhancing durability, performance and sustainability. The updated recycled, solution dyed and PFC-free fabrics reinforce Terra Nova’s commitment to sustainability, making this one of the most eco-conscious four-season tents available. Thanks to an improved fabric composition, overall weight has been reduced without compromising strength, making it easier to carry on extended expeditions.Designed for challenging environments, the tent’s semi-geodesic shape delivers superior wind resistance and structural integrity, ensuring it remains stable in harsh weather. The front-entry D-shaped door and generous 85cm porch provide convenient access and extra gear storage, making it a practical choice for long-distance hikers who need a comfortable and efficient living space. With a packed size of just 50cm x 15cm, the Voyager Lite is easy to stow and carry, making it ideal for multi-day treks, winter backpacking, and expeditions where reliability and weight savings are key
Our Verdict
The updated Voyager Lite brings meaningful improvements without compromising the core reliability that has defined this tent for years. The new triple-ripstop flysheet feels tougher yet cuts weight, and all fabrics are now made from recycled materials, solution-dyed, and PFC-free.
Pitching remains familiar and efficient. The semi-geodesic design handles wind confidently and holds its shape well. Inside, space is compact but workable, with a full-length porch offering enough room for packs, boots, and a stove. The single front door provides easy entry and solid ventilation through a mesh and fabric double-layer, though breathability in damp conditions is still limited by the low profile.
Detail updates include lighter pole sleeves and zip flaps, which streamline the pack and should reduce wear over time. At around 1.35kg trail weight, it’s noticeably lighter than older versions without feeling fragile.
