Our Verdict
The Terra Nova TriPlex Tarp 2 strikes an appealing balance between weight, coverage and adaptability. At 451g, it remains comfortably lightweight while offering enough space for two people or a particularly spacious solo setup. The generous dimensions open up a wide range of pitching options, allowing the shelter to be adapted to changing terrain and weather conditions.
The new TriPlex fabric is the headline feature. The nylon and polyester blend prioritises stability, helping maintain a taut pitch in wet weather while retaining a compact packed size.
As with any tarp, getting the most from it requires a little more involvement than a conventional tent, but the flexibility is part of the appeal. For tarp campers, bivy users and lightweight backpackers, it is a well-considered shelter system that balances coverage, packability and adaptability.
