Swing backpack – with canopy extension for the backpack
Swing backpack is the windproof and lightweight rain shield with canopy extension! When opened by the safety runner, the three rear segments of the stick umbrella extend automatically. This additional canopy protects the space between back and backpack perfectly from rain. When the umbrella is closed, the canopy extension automatically folds back inwards and becomes invisible again.
Note: Silver version offers UV-protection with sun protection factor of 50+; TÜV-certified; canopy: outside-silver; inside-black.
Our Verdict
EuroSchirm's Swing Backpack Umbrella is built from high quality lightweight materials to provide the user with all the protection an umbrella can offer with minimal additional load. Its still quite robust though and perfect for long backpacking trips where weight is at a premium.
The added bonus of the Swing BackPack Umbrella is the additional canopy at the rear of the Umbrella which also protects your backpack from the rain. You no no longer need to faff about with rucksack covers when heavens open. Thanks to the soft ergonomic handle the canopy always covers the rear.
Trekking umbrellas are often under-valued, they provide protection from rain without having to compromise breathability - leaving you dry and comfortable. In hot climates they provide much needed shade and UV protection, which can be enhanced by the silver version of the umbrella. Just about the only time they are a pain to use is in windy conditions.
