Natural movement with waterproof protection
Xero Shoes says:
The Scrambler Trail Mid WP keeps your feet dry and comfortable no matter the trail conditions. The waterproof XeroTex® membrane and gusseted tongue keeps water and debris out, and the mid-cut design offers extra ankle protection on longer or more technical hikes. The durable ripstop upper with welded overlays offers lightweight, flexible protection. The rugged outsole was designed with larger lugs providing ample traction for confidence & agility on the trail.
Our Verdict
Xero Shoes has built its range around zero-drop footwear, wide toe boxes and allowing the foot to move more naturally. The Scrambler Trail Mid WP brings that approach into a lightweight waterproof hiking boot.
At 353g per shoe (UK8), it feels notably less substantial than a conventional walking boot. The 10.5mm stack keeps you close to the ground, while the broad toe box and flexible construction allow plenty of natural movement. There is still some protection underfoot from the integrated rock guard, and the XeroTex membrane adds useful weather protection for wetter trails.
For mixed trails, woodland and moorland walking, the low weight, flexibility and natural fit give it a very distinctive feel.
