Fast-hiking comfort with a little extra support and weather protection.
Keen says:
Next-level Zionic agility is here. Same fast and light fit and feel you love for the trail, updated with longer-lasting, high-rebound cushioning that stays springy.
Our Verdict
The Zionic NXT Mid WP feels like a successful evolution of the original concept. I like that it keeps the light, agile feel of a trail shoe while adding extra ankle coverage and a touch more reassurance for rougher terrain and longer days carrying a pack. The updated cushioning delivers a softer, more energetic ride, while the full-length stability plate helps the shoe feel composed on rocky trails and uneven ground.
The mid-height collar adds support without making the boot feel overly bulky, and the waterproof lining is well-suited to typical UK conditions. I think it works best for fast walking, day hikes and lightweight backpacking, where you want more protection than a trail runner without moving into a traditional boot.
