Our Verdict
The NEBO Poppy Puck is a neat little rechargeable light. I especially like the collapsible lantern section because it pivots the main beam, giving you a little control over the direction.
Hung from a washing line inside a tent, the 10-lumen lantern provides enough light for organising kit or settling down for the evening without feeling harsh. The candle-like flicker mode is more of a novelty, although I can still see myself using it occasionally for a softer atmosphere.
The 300-lumen main beam setting is bright for such a compact unit, while the magnetic base and folding hooks provide several mounting options. At 60g and just 47mm across, it is easy to pack, and USB-C charging keeps things simple.
My only complaint is that there is no separate on/off switch for the lantern. Having to cycle through the main beam to reach it can be quite jarring if you switch it on during the night.
