Our Verdict
The LifeStraw Peak Series 3l gravity filtration system is incredibly easy to use and durable. It’s reasonably lightweight if you supply the water for two or more and spread the weight.
It’s a simple system: fill up the bag, then either suck or squeeze your water out or hang it up and let gravity do the hard work. The Peak Series Protects Against 99.999999% of bacteria, 99.999% of parasites and microplastics.
I have to admit I'm a bit unsure why they made the gravity bag from a black material, as I would much rather it was see-through, so I can check just how silty the water is before passing it through my filter. Also, you have to bring along a syringe to back flush the filter; not too much of a pain, but any extra gear I have to bring, and therefore potentially lose, is a drawback to me.
