Lightweight and comfortable pants for racking up the miles in warm conditions.
Mountain Equipment says:
These lightweight soft shell pants are built for hiking, trekking, and fast mountain moves. Made from EXOLITE 100 stretch fabric with a PFAS-free DWR finish, they keep you cool, weather-resistant, and mobile. An alpine fit, articulated knees, multiple pockets, and a stretch waistband with an internal drawcord ensure all-day comfort and practicality.
Our Verdict
At 232g (Medium), the Khor Pants are clearly aimed at fast hill days, summer backpacking and warm-weather trekking rather than rough mountain use. The EXOLITE 100 softshell fabric is the main draw for me: light, stretchy, and quick-drying, with enough resistance to handle light showers and breezy conditions without feeling heavy or restrictive.
The neat, active fit works well with the articulated knees, giving good movement on steeper ground. I also like the softer waistband and internal drawcord, which should sit comfortably under a rucksack hipbelt without the bulk of a belt system. The pocket layout is simple, with open-hand pockets for easy access and a zippered thigh pocket for more secure storage.
The lighter fabric and open pockets mean they are not the most protective or technical option, but for hot hillwalking, travel and summer backpacking, they excel.
