An ultra lightweight one-layer tent for UL hiking and bikepacking adventures.
Low weight is perfectly combined with a large internal volume and excellent wind resistance. The tent has 2 vestibules 55 cm long. The shelter has 2 entrances on a water-repellent YKK zipper.
The tent is designed for two people.
The area of internal living space is about 2,76 square meters, the area of the vestibule is 1,64 sq. m. (0,82 sq.m. each).
The Illusion Duo can be pitched with two trekking poles or stakes.
For minimal pitching, only 6 pegs are required. Pegs and trekking poles are not included in the set. Small packed size and volume.
Seams of the shelter are non-sealed. For seams' sealing, we recommend sealant based on silicone.
Setup:
- Stretch the corners with pegs;
- Install a trekking pole to 130cm inside the top of the tent in where a special pocket is provided. In the bottom of the tent there's a also tube pocket for the trekking pole. The sharp end of the trekking pole must be closed;
- Install the guy line in the loop with Lineloc at the top of the tent and pull this cord along the zipper entrance with peg;
- Tighten the guy lines for a tension wind stability of the tent;
- To increase the internal living space, we additionally install guy lines on additional loops.
Our Verdict
The Liteway Illusion Duo is an ultra-lightweight tent, perfect for those seeking to minimise pack weight at just 865g. However, given its minimalist design, none of the cords are pre-attached, so it’s essential to set up the tent before heading out. Personally, I would recommend adding line runners to the guy lines for easier tension adjustments in the field, which can be a real time-saver in changing weather conditions.
A standout feature, often neglected in single-skin tents, is the inclusion of two ventilation ports. These vents help to promote airflow and reduce condensation—a common issue with single-layer designs—making this tent more comfortable in varied conditions. It’s a welcome addition, especially when compared to similar tents that often overlook ventilation.
The tent provides generous space for two, with dual vestibules for kit storage, and it pitches with trekking poles .. The water-resistant fabric and YKK AquaGuard zip keep the interior dry.
For ultralight backpackers or bikepackers who don’t mind a bit of pre-trip setup, the Illusion Duo offers excellent space, wind resistance, and thoughtful ventilation, making it a solid choice for lightweight adventures.

- We don't recommend this shelter if you are not more than 185 cm tall. For a taller person, the shelter may be not convenient.
- NOTE. The sharp ends of the trekking poles should always be covered with tips. Or you can put a soft cloth / equipment under the sharp end of the pole. Do not insert the sharp ends of sticks or posts into the top of the shelter. The sharp ends of the trekking poles should always be covered to avoid damaging the Tent.
