Our Verdict
At 1145g (excluding stakes and footprint), the Copper Spur Limited 2P is impressively light for a freestanding, fully featured tent with dual doors and vestibules. It comes in 91g lighter than the current Copper Spur, a respectable 7% drop that feels meaningful when counting grams.
The shift to HyperBead fabric is the real draw — noticeably more robust and better at shedding water, with the benefit of being PFAS-free. It still pitches quickly thanks to the familiar TipLok system, and the cross-pole hub helps maximise headroom without adding faff. I appreciated the smaller details too: low vents improve airflow, the Quick Stash loops keep the doors tidy, and the included footprint — not standard on the regular version — adds real value, both in function and weight savings when using a fast fly setup.
The clean white fly might not suit every taste, especially in muddy conditions, but it does add to the tent’s distinctive character. Compared to the standard UL2, the Limited edition shaves grams and feels more refined — and on trail, that extra bit of strength brings real peace of mind.
Lighter, tougher, and sharper — the Copper Spur Limited makes a good tent even better.
