The Chaser 2 LW tent is designed for the outdoor enthusiasts seeking a reliable tent. The versatile FlexPitch system enables you to set up the tent with various configurations - fly only, inner only, or both - providing flexibility according to your needs.Crafted from no-sag HydroTex SilPoly RS with a 2000 mm flysheet and featuring a best-in-class 5000 mm hydrostatic-head floor, it delivers both lightweight packability and uncompromising weatherproofing. HydroTex SilPoly absorbs significantly less water than nylon, so it stays lighter even in wet conditions. It also dries quickly and remains tight, strong, and non-sagging when exposed to moisture, delivering consistent performance. A mesh inner promotes optimal ventilation while panels secures effective protection from wind and dust. The tent uses DAC Pressfit 9 mm poles, renowned for their excellent strength, reliability, and low weight. Our Verdict
The Robens Chaser 2 LW occupies an interesting middle ground between ultralight shelters and more traditional backpacking tents. At 1275g, it remains competitive for a fully enclosed double-wall design with DAC poles, while still offering the reassurance of a sewn-in groundsheet, generous ventilation and a reasonably protective flysheet.
Ventilation also appears very well judged. The mesh-heavy inner, adjustable fly height and two-way door zip create far more airflow than many lightweight tunnel tents, helping condensation management in milder conditions.
The single-porch, tapered-tunnel design does place some limits on liveability, and I suspect many backpackers will view this as a spacious solo shelter rather than a truly comfortable two-person tent. While the inner should work well with standard-width mats, two wide mats will not fit.
For lightweight three-season backpacking and bikepacking, particularly where packability matters as much as weight, it feels like a carefully considered shelter.
