Our Verdict
I don’t often use the term “entry-level” in a positive way, but the C Bar 3 earns it just like its smaller sibling. It’s a genuinely capable tent at a very reasonable price, with solid materials and premium components that don’t shout for attention—but quietly do their job well. If you’re upgrading from a basic setup or starting to take backpacking more seriously, this is a great step up without blowing the budget.
At just over 2.1kg (excluding pegs and bags), it’s not breaking any ultralight records, but it’s a fair weight for the size and level of durability. The DAC Pressfit poles and hub design are simple and reliable, and the TipLok buckles make pegging out quick and tidy. There’s one large door leading into a decent vestibule—plenty of room for three packs and boots, or space to cook in bad weather with care.
Inside, the space is workable for three but luxurious for two. Two side pockets and a large ceiling pocket help keep clutter under control, and the fabrics feel tough enough to stand up to repeated use in mixed conditions.
