Perfect for long distances, steep descents, and puncturing the bottom of a beer can. Within just a few steps they'll feel like an extension of your arm.
Our Verdict
Mountainsmith's Andesite Carbon Trekking Poles balance strength and weight really well. Weighing in at just 184g per pole the combination of carbon fibre shafts, EVA foam handles and twist-lock adjustability results in a comfortable and durable pole set. The twist-lock mechanism is quick and easy to make adjustments with so you can get the best position when you're ascending or descending on technical ground.
The packed size is 81cm which is quite long and could be an issue if you're travelling or need to store the poles when not in use. The different tips and baskets that are included is a welcome addition and makes using them on various surfaces much more comfortable. Overall, these poles are lightweight, reliable and provide really good value.
