A lightweight and compact filter seamlessly connects with a 42mm water bottle.

Our Verdict
On a recent trip, I took two filters, a heavy-duty one for processing water for food, as well as this 42mm Hydra Pak filter which I had connected to my water bottle. This setup meant I could quickly fill my water bottle from a stream or brook without having to take off my pack and get out of “hiking mode”.
This meant I always had drinking water and was a much quicker system than stopping to process water whenever I needed a drink, not really in the “ultralight hiking mentality” but it worked for me. For a sacrifice of only 42 grams, it was something I’ll do again.
it’s easy to back flush, and you get a good flow rate, especially when sucking strait from the water bottle.
