Our Verdict
Mountain Equipment's Turas Leggings blend the comfort of stretchy leggings with the durability of reinforced softshell fabric to create a versatile piece for active mountain pursuits. The combination allows excellent mobility while providing extra abrasion resistance for scrambling and climbing.
The main body uses lightweight, breathable, recycled polyamide fabric with a lot of stretch. Thanks to the articulated knees and diamond gusset, this provides unrestricted freedom of movement. The deep elastic waistband with drawcord allows a secure, adjustable fit.
To boost durability, ME has added panels of their Exolite 280 double-weave softshell over the knees and seat. This tougher fabric can better handle rubbing against rocks on sketchy scrambles and routes.
Despite their technical construction, the Turas Leggings also include some excellent lifestyle features. You get a zippered thigh and envelope-style pocket for securely stashing small essentials and valuables.
