Women's specific patterning, the Core Zipped Vest is ideal as a layer to quickly throw on or as part of a layering system. Using Primaloft ACTIVE 125g to half the weight compared with traditional fleece and gives a super high wicking high loft product.
Our Verdict
The OMM Core Zipped Vest is constructed with Primaloft ACTIVE, a warm and fluffy insulating material. When held up to the light, the open weave construction is visible, which traps air to provide insulation. However, it is also evident that this material will not perform well if exposed to a breeze. As OMM points out, the vest is designed to be used in conjunction with a shell garment.
The addition of a zipper allows you to put on the vest without having to pull it over your head, and it also allows for a bit of ventilation. However, because the insulation is so breathable, I doubt that this will be of much use.
