Our Verdict
The Patagonia Capilene Thermal Weight Zip Neck is an excellent baselayer for cold-weather activities. The Polartec Power Grid fabric provides impressive warmth and breathability thanks to its gridded inner face, which traps heat while allowing moisture to wick away. The thumb loops are a nice touch for keeping sleeves in place, and the zip neck allows easy venting.
This top is well-made using recycled and blue sign-approved materials in a Fair Trade factory. The flatlock seams minimise chafing, and the gusseted underarms allow unrestricted mobility. The odour control treatment helps it stay fresh between washes.
