Our Verdict
The Rab Womens Andes Windstopper 800 is a high-loft down sleeping bag built for extreme cold, where insulation and weather resistance are critical. At 1383g, it offers a slightly lighter option within the Andes range while still prioritising warmth and protection, with a women specific fit that provides a more tailored shape for improved thermal efficiency and comfort during long nights. The trapezoidal boxwall baffle construction maintains even down distribution and supports consistent loft, while the TILT lining reflects radiant body heat towards you to improve thermal efficiency without adding bulk.
The WINDSTOPPER fabric blocks wind effectively, reducing heat loss in exposed conditions, though it gives the outer layer a slightly crinkly feel in use. A 3/4-length zip allows controlled ventilation, and the hood-and-collar system seals in warmth effectively. Overall, it is a highly capable option for extreme environments where reliability and protection are the priority.
