Our Verdict
Gregory's Amber 54 Rucksack uses a combination of highly durable fabrics combined with an adjustable back length to provide a very comfortable pack capable of carrying a load over 20kg. Comfort is a highlight with the Amber and the combination of adjustable back length, adjustable wraparound hip belts and the usual straps mean that you can really personalise the fit. This isn't the lightest pack, weighting in at over 1.6kg, but with all the options for adjusting it and making it more comfortable many will find this worthwhile.
The pack is full of practical features that make using it easier. From the classic sleeping bag compartment at the bottom to the U-shaped zip that allows a full opening of the main compartment and an array of mesh and zip pockets this pack gives you easy access and loads of options to make life on the trails simpler. Every aspect of this pack shows how well made it is, with comfortable shoulder straps, a combination of heavy duty fabrics giving you a seriously hard wearing piece of kit and the little extras that are all well thought out and well made.
