Our Verdict
The VAGA Mesh Flex Cap is the pick for hot days, fast efforts and anyone who finds standard caps too warm. At 37g (M/L), it stays very light, but the open-mesh side panels are the main reason to choose it, providing much better airflow when you are working hard.
I like the short, perforated peak, as it provides useful glare protection without feeling bulky, and the fast-adjust drawcord makes it easy to tighten the fit in the wind.
I like the fast-adjust elastic drawcord, as it makes it easy to tighten the fit on exposed sections or loosen it when working hard. The laser-cut eyelets improve airflow, though the 100% nylon fabric will not feel as open as a full-mesh cap.
