The Robens Via 1 UL trekking pole supported tent is engineered for solo adventurers who refuse to compromise on protection. Crafted from no-sag, siliconized HydroTex SilPoly RS with a 2000 mm flysheet and featuring a best-in-class 5000 mm hydrostatic-head floor, it delivers both ultralight packability and uncompromising weatherproofing. Designed to pitch easily using your own trekking poles, it offers multiple configurations: fly-only, inner-only or full double-wall with porch mode, a vertical end wall supported by a carbon-fiber strut to maximize interior space and keep gear and sleeping bag dry. Magnetic door toggles and YKK Aquaguard zippers included for effortless one-handed access, round out its features, so you get premium performance without the premium weight penalty.

Our Verdict
The Robens Via 1 UL Tent is a one-person trekking pole shelter with a practical double-wall layout. At 901g for the fly, inner, and pole section, it is light for a solo tent with two vestibules, proper inner protection, and a 5000mm-rated groundsheet.
The silpoly fly is a good choice, as it holds tension better in damp conditions than nylon. The 2000mm flysheet rating looks modest on paper, but I would not judge it on that figure alone, especially as the same fabric used on the Via 2 performed really well when one of our staff took it on a very wet Coast to Coast route across Scotland.
I’m a big fan of trekking pole tents, and one of the main draws is not having to carry a full set of tent poles. With the Via 1, though, you still need a short pole section at the foot end. It helps create the vertical end wall, making the 220cm length more usable and reducing the chance of your sleeping bag brushing against the fabric.
Inside, the 70cm width gives enough room for a wide sleeping mat, making this a practical solo shelter for three-season backpacking and long-distance walking.
