Our Verdict
The Universal Mat Coupler Kit is a lightweight solution to one of the more annoying parts of sharing a tent: mats slowly separating during the night. I like that the two-strap design secures both the head and foot ends rather than just pulling the middle together, which helps create a more stable sleeping surface. It works best with rectangular mats, where the fit feels much more secure than with tapered mummy shapes. At 59g, the weight is easy to justify for couples using separate mats.
