Our Verdict
The Gossamer Gear Travel Umbrella weighs 160g and packs down to just 26.7cm, yet still opens to a 94cm canopy.
It is small enough to disappear into a travel bag or rucksack side pocket, but does not feel compromised once it is open.
The push-button opening and EVA handle keep it easy to use, while the reflective wrist strap is a sensible little detail.
I would see this more as a lightweight travel umbrella than a dedicated hiking model. The folding design makes it much easier to carry, although I would still be cautious in strong wind, where any compact umbrella starts to feel more vulnerable.
