Our Verdict
The Targhee Apex WP weighs 326g per shoe and moves the range towards a lighter, more flexible feel while keeping the stability Keen is known for. The fit follows Keen’s familiar wide forefoot shape, allowing plenty of space for toes to move naturally, with a supportive midfoot that holds securely on uneven ground. Underfoot, the updated midsole feels softer and more responsive than older versions, which helps reduce impact over longer days on the trail.
The outsole provides reliable grip across dry paths, gravel and moderate mud, with a stable platform that inspires confidence. The waterproof lining keeps feet dry in wet conditions, with the usual trade-off of reduced breathability in warmer weather.
