Roomy comfort with a lighter, more modern feel.
Keen says:
Our original out-of-the-box comfort hiking boot goes fast and light. Featuring a roomy toe box and lighter, high-rebound KEEN. ReGENX foam that absorbs impact for a responsive ride.
Our Verdict
I think the Targhee Apex Mid WP successfully updates the familiar KEEN formula. The generous forefoot remains one of its biggest strengths, but the lighter mesh upper and high-rebound midsole give it a more agile feel than traditional Targhee boots. Cushioning is particularly noticeable, helping smooth out harder trails and long days on mixed terrain, while the mid-height design adds a little extra support without feeling overly substantial.
The waterproof membrane is well-suited to typical UK conditions, though it will run warmer than a non-waterproof option in summer. I also like the substantial toe protection, which adds reassurance on rocky paths.
