Lightweight and built for movement, ideal for high-output days.
Rab says:
The Talus Light Shorts are stripped-back, minimalist legwear for when you’re counting every gram on ultras and long-distance mountain runs. These ultralight, ultra-breathable 5-inch running shorts have a streamlined design and a simple waistband construction, so you’re never carrying more than you need. With only the essential fabric and storage, the Talus Light Shorts are light and airy in warm conditions, and ideal for runners who like to keep weight and bulk to an absolute minimum.
Our Verdict
At just 89g (UK 10), the Talus Light Shorts from Rab are purpose-built for fast, warm-weather runs. The Matrix fabric breathes exceptionally well and dries quickly when the pace picks up. I’ve found the inner brief supportive and chafe-free even on longer runs, and the flatlock seams help keep everything comfortable next to the skin.
The fit is minimalist and close, with a no-fuss waistband that stays in place without squeezing. There’s no drawcord, but the stretch is dialled in enough that it never felt like an issue. Storage is limited to two small rear stash pockets—fine for gels or keys.
