Dries Fast, Built to Last. Crafted from a high-performance woven fabric and reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel, the T1's upper is relentlessly durable. It's anti-siphon knit tongue repels, ensuring a breathable, fast-drying design that thrives in the harshest conditions.
Midsole Mastery. LightCELL, our proprietary midsole, is turbocharged through supercritical foaming. LightCELL weighs just 50 percent of EVA while offering 45 percent greater energy return - it's battle-tested by hundreds of ultrarunners for consistent responsiveness, mile after mile.
Vibrams Finest. The T1's outsole features a trio of Vibram innovations: Megagrip rubber for tenacious traction in any condition, Litebase for 30 percent less weight without compromising performance, and Traction Lug micro-features for up to 25 percent more grip.
Our Verdict
Mount to Coast is still a relatively new name to us, and the T1 gives a clear sense of the brand: long-distance footwear with a real emphasis on fit and efficiency. At 251g per UK8 shoe, it is light for a technical trail shoe, with a firmer LightCELL midsole that feels more controlled and connected than heavily cushioned alternatives.
The TUNEDFIT dual lacing system stands out most to me, letting you adjust the forefoot and midfoot separately as your feet swell over longer distances. If you prefer a more traditional setup, it includes conventional laces too, though once removed they can not be reattached.
The Vibram Megagrip outsole and 4mm lugs give strong traction on rock, roots and mixed trail, while the Kevlar-reinforced upper adds durability without making the shoe feel heavy. Deep mud is not its strength, but on technical three-season trails the balance feels very well judged.
