EuroSchirm's Swing Hands Free Trekking Umbrella utilises your rucksack hipbelt and shoulder straps to secure the umbrella in place leaving your hands free for other stuff.
Euroschirm says
The trekking umbrella Swing hands free keeps both your hands free, free for trekking poles, free to look at a map or for taking photographs. The special highlight: The break-proof glass fibre shaft of this sophisticated umbrella is variably extendable up to 110 cm length and can be fixed at any height by a small twisting movement to match the owner’s body height. By means of two accompanying fastening clips the shaft of the umbrella can be fixed left, right or diagonally to the shoulder straps of the backpack with hip belt and positioned to the direction of the rain or the sun.The elastic carrying loop at the umbrella handle serves as flexible fastening to the hip belt.A further advantage: this trekking umbrella can also be used like a normal trekking umbrella.
Silver UV-light protective treatment option available:
The silver UV-light protective coating is especially recommended for the protection against sun and heat. It is almost completely resistant against harmful UV-radiation and offers a TÜV certified light protection factor of UPF 50+ (Australia/New Zealand Standard). In addition, the silver-metallic-coating reflects the heat very efficiently so that it is considerably cooler under the umbrellas with silver UPF 50+-coating than under umbrellas with a normal canopy.
Our Verdict
EuroSchirm's Swing Hands Free Trekking Umbrella is a bit of a masterpiece, utilising your rucksack hip belt and shoulder strap you can get all the advantages of a trekking umbrella without the hassle of carrying it! This leaves you with both hands free for using trekking poles or other stuff..
Trekking umbrellas are often under-valued, they provide protection from rain without having to compromise breathability - leaving you dry and comfortable. In hot climates they provide much needed shade and UV protection, which can be enhanced by the silver version of the umbrella. Just about the only time they are a pain to use is in windy conditions.
