Catenary cut and rectangular design give several types of set up: A-frame, half-pyramid (holden tent). Paired which form a 2-layer ultra lightweight tent for one person.
Our Verdict
At 232g, the Liteway Simplex Tarp XL gives a lot of coverage for very little weight. The 274 x 190cm footprint has room for a wide mat and kit. I like the seamless 20D silpoly construction, as it keeps the shelter simple and avoids a ridgeline seam.
It is worth attaching the cordage before heading into the hills, as it does not come pre-fitted, and no pegs are included. I also really like the trekking pole pockets on each ridge point, which help keep the poles securely positioned and make setup more straightforward.
