Walking across deserts in the blazing sun or through summer rain showers shouldn't be a misery. The Silver Shadow Series provides a large reflective surface on top to deflect sunlight and a black underside to absorb wandering rays, allowing you to walk cooler and better protected. Its coating sheds water easily, eliminating the need to wear sweaty rain gear.

Mini Replacement Handle:
Six Moon Designs now comes with the Mini Replacement Handle for free with your Umbrella. The Replacement handle gives you a more comfortable EVA foam grip to hold onto for longer hikes. As an added bonus the new handle makes this umbrella work much better with the Hands Free Kit. If you do not want the added bulk of the EVA replacement handle you can keep on the smaller plastic handle.
Our Verdict
Six Moon Design's Silver Shadow Mini Umbrella provides a good amount of coverage from the sun and rain. Although a lot of the design features such as the reflective silver top and black underside are more aimed at sun protection (along with the UPF 50+ rating) this umbrella stands up well to rain too. It's size means that it is susceptible to gusts of wind, on calmer days it is a great piece of kit.
The simple fold-away design allows you to pack this easily in small day packs, in rucksack pouches and even pockets when the weather dictates. The handy pouch included makes it easy to pack away and it comes in at around 40% the length of the other Silver Shadow umbrellas.
