Lightweight comfort for everyday trails
Mammut says:
Step into comfort with these lightweight, waterproof, low-cut day hiking shoes. Pairing a Mammut Swiss Design sole for reliable grip with high-rebound foam, an improved, wider fit and high stack height for cushioning and shock absorption, it’s a great partner for mixed terrain. Keeping it breezy with a breathable mesh outer fabric, its waterproof GORE-TEX membrane has you covered in less-than-ideal conditions. For great comfort at a minimal weight, the clear choice is the Sertig III Low GTX.
Our Verdict
At 384g per shoe, the Mammut Sertig III Low GTX gives a light, cushioned feel while still offering the protection needed for regular walking. The updated wider fit makes it more forgiving over longer days, and the high-rebound EVA adds comfort without making the shoe feel stiff or overbuilt.
I like the balance here: the low-cut shape keeps it easy to move in, while the GORE-TEX lining and double-engineered mesh upper make sense for wet grass, showers, and mixed UK paths. The Mammut outsole is suited to steady trails, forest tracks and easier hill routes rather than rough mountain terrain. Best for walkers seeking a lightweight, waterproof shoe with cushioning, comfort, and everyday trail protection.
