Our Verdict
At 418g per shoe, the Mammut Sertig III Mid GTX gives a little more ankle coverage than a low-cut trail shoe without feeling like a traditional walking boot. The improved, wider fit helps make it feel more forgiving over longer days, while the high-rebound EVA gives a cushioned feel underfoot without making the shoe feel overbuilt.
The Mammut Swiss Design outsole is designed for mixed terrain, and the GORE-TEX lining adds wet-weather protection, while the double-engineered mesh keeps the upper lighter and more flexible than most standard walking boots. It is not the most protective option for rough mountain terrain, but it is a strong choice for walkers seeking lightweight mid-cut support, cushioning, and waterproofing for day hikes and mixed trails.
