Our Verdict
The Turbat Prut Trek Shorts are light, stretchy hiking shorts for fast walks, travel and warm-weather trekking. At 178g (Medium), they keep things simple, with an 86% nylon and 14% elastane fabric that gives easy movement without feeling loose or baggy.
I like the elastic waistband, as it keeps the fit comfortable under a pack without needing a belt. The two vertical zipped hand pockets are also a strong detail, giving more security than open pockets when moving quickly or travelling. The extra leg pocket provides quick access to a phone or small items, though I would keep heavier items elsewhere to avoid bounce.
For summer hillwalking, fast hikes, lightweight backpacking and travel, they are a comfortable option with better pocket security than many minimal shorts.
