At 800 g (Medium), the Positron Pro sits near the top of Rab’s warmth scale, intended for conditions where prolonged cold and wind demand complete protection. The combination of 800-fill hydrophobic goose down and a tough Pertex Quantum Pro shell delivers outstanding insulation with reassuring durability. The zoned box-wall construction ensures consistent warmth across the torso and hood, while lighter stitch-through panels under the arms preserve mobility and prevent bulk.
Fit is regular but efficient, with space for light layering underneath. The wired, helmet-compatible hood seals effectively around the face, and the extended cut provides excellent coverage when standing still in cold weather. Breathability is limited, as expected in a jacket of this warmth level, but venting through the two-way front zip helps when active.
