The robust EXOLITE 125 double weave softshell fabric dries quickly after strenuous approaches and provides excellent lightweight protection from wind, light rain and sea spray. Comfortable fabric stretch combined with our proven Active fit keeps the shorts neat without compromising movement on challenging terrain. A secure integrated belt with double press-stud waist closure allows easy fit adjustment and sits comfortably under a pack or harness. The two zipped hand pockets allow easy access to essentials, while the mesh-lined thigh pocket provides additional ventilation when necessary and is accessible with a harness on.

Our Verdict
At 206g (Medium), the Comici Shorts carry over much of what works well in the trousers, but in a more focused warm-weather format. The EXOLITE 125 softshell fabric is the key strength for me: light, stretchy, and quick-drying, with enough protection for breezy approaches, light showers, and exposed scrambling without feeling heavy or restrictive.
The Active fit keeps them neat rather than baggy, which makes sense for climbing and technical ground where loose fabric can get in the way. I also like the pocket layout. The zipped hand pockets keep small items secure, while the mesh-lined thigh pocket adds useful storage and a bit of extra ventilation.
The integrated belt and double press-stud waist sit neatly under a pack or harness. I usually prefer choosing my own belt, but this one feels low-profile and secure. For climbing approaches, scrambling and hot hill days, these are a strong lightweight option.
