Lightweight softshell short built for dynamic movement in technical mountain environments

The Mossa Short has been engineered for performance on technical mountain terrain. Built using lightweight yet highly durable GRANITE STRETCH, enhanced articulation thought the pant works alongside the high stretch fabric to offer unhindered movement. Ultra low profile waistband with streamlined adjustment ensures comfort when wearing harnesses or hip belts, whilst the refined fit including new "pre-active stance" patterning allow for new levels of freedom.
Our Verdict
At 236g (Medium), the Montane Mossa Shorts keep the same technical feel as the trousers. The GRANITE Flex fabric provides enough stretch and recovery for steep ground, scrambling, and long hill days, while the slim, articulated Mountain Fit avoids feeling baggy or restrictive.
I like the locking top button, and the small integrated belt in the waistband does a good job of letting me fine-tune the fit without adding bulk. The open-hand pockets keep things simple, while the zipped thigh pocket gives secure storage without getting in the way of movement. The 11-inch inseam gives decent coverage, too. Best for walkers and scramblers wanting lightweight softshell shorts with genuine mountain credentials for warmer conditions.
