Our Verdict
From my time with the Modulus Hoody, it stands out as a practical and thoughtfully designed piece. The Thermic Stretch Pro fleece provides impressive warmth for its weight while remaining breathable during intense climbs. The slim fit layers effortlessly under a shell, and the fabric’s stretch ensures full mobility without restriction. I found the under-helmet hood exceptionally functional—it fits snugly and adds warmth without feeling bulky beneath a helmet.
The zipped hand pockets are ideally placed for ease of access, even when wearing a harness, and the small left arm pocket is a useful addition for stashing essentials. It balances warmth and packability at 433g (size M), though it’s more suited as an active midlayer than a lightweight emergency piece.
While not the lightest fleece in Rab’s lineup, the Modulus Hoody is a dependable all-rounder. It excels in scenarios where durability and movement are key priorities
