Our Verdict
The Vango F10 Banshee UL 2 Tent has been called the GOAT of wild camping tents, and this version builds on a classic design with a long track record that many of us will have started our camping journeys with.
This version feels like a modern reinterpretation, keeping the familiar low-profile tunnel shape while reducing weight. The move to lighter 10D fabric brings the weight down to 1168g for the fly, inner and poles, while still maintaining a 3,000mm fly and 6,000mm floor rating.
The updated pole structure, featuring pre-bent sections, increases internal space. It remains a low tent, but headroom and length are improved compared to earlier versions, making it more comfortable in camp. It accommodates two in a tight but workable way, but as anyone who has used this tent previously will attest its far better suited to solo use.
Pitching is quick and straightforward. The all-in-one setup keeps the inner protected in poor weather, and the tunnel design is simple to get right once pegged out. The internal tensioning system works well in practice, but it relies on cords running into the inner tent. This creates a small but noticeable opening, which could be an issue during peak midge season.
Ventilation is balanced, with mesh panels supporting airflow while retaining some protection. Condensation is well managed in this style of tent, though conditions can always affect condensation
This feels like a more technical version of a well-known design, taking something with strong heritage and adapting it for lighter, faster use. It suits routes where conditions can turn, and a more stable shelter is needed, while still keeping pack weight low.
