Wechsel Exogen 1 Person Tent - great choice for 3 plus season camping.
Wechsel's Exogen is an incredibly versatile 3+ season tent. It is fully freestanding and tough enough for camping all year round as long as you stay off the summits in winter.
The Exogen provides a good amount of space in a strong, stable design. Top quality materials will see this tent stand up to serious conditions while still being light enough to use for multiday backpacking trips.

The Exogen 1 is a freestanding geodesic tent for one person - including a vestibule. Two aluminum hubs at the poles ensure high wind stability. The inner tent of the Exogen 1 is set up first. The additional pole forms the vestibule, as soon as the fly sheet is stretched over it. For a very light weather protection, the fly sheet can be set up by using the Groundsheet. The inner tent is equipped with mosquito mesh in the doors as well as at the foot and head end. Additional inner tent pockets ensure order and offer space for otherwise odds and ends.
Our Verdict
Wechsel's Exogen 1 Backpacking Tent is a great option for an all-rounder tent. With a strong design using cross poles and a low cut fly this tent stands up really well to the wind and rain regularly experienced in UK conditions. The materials used show immediate quality and have proven to be very durable with extended use.
The tent uses a fully silicone coated flysheet which gives increased UV protection and tear strength but does mean it can't be seam taped. The Exogen has seams stitched in such a way that they should be waterproof but for use in extremely wet conditions it is supplied with a tube of silicone sealant so that you can seal the seams for additional weather protection.
The tent is easy to pitch and is great to use. The single door works well and doesn't make getting in and out difficult like many others. The low cut fly is ideal for wet and windy conditions but it can also be pegged out or rolled up to allow a greater space for ventilation or use in good weather. Attention to detail and nice little touches in the design make Wechsel tents stand out.

Zero-G Line Tents: Seams on Wechsel Zero-G line tents - the outer seams of the silicone impregnated tents can't yet be sealed with tape. These seams are sewn with a cotton coated polyester thread that swells when wet and seals the seam. Before first use we recommend to seal the seams with the sealer provided.
