Our Verdict
The Cotopaxi Empacable 16L Daypack weighs 262g and packs into its own pocket, so you can carry it inside a larger travel bag until you need it.
For me, the two bottle pockets, breathable shoulder straps and hydration sleeve give it more day-to-day practicality than a really stripped-back packable bag.
The main thing I am less keen on is the cinch-top opening. It is quick and simple, but it leaves the contents less secure than a zipped closure, particularly when travelling or moving through busy places.
It is still a very easy bag to throw into your luggage, but I would keep valuables somewhere more secure.
