Our Verdict
The Cotopaxi Empacable 16L Daypack packs into its own accessory pocket, making it easy to carry inside a larger rucksack or suitcase. At 282g, it is not the lightest option, but the breathable shoulder straps, removable sternum strap and chest-mounted stretch pocket make it more usable than a basic packable bag.
The cinch opening gives quick access to the main compartment, while two bottle pockets and a hydration sleeve suit light day walking. There is no structured back panel, so careful packing will improve comfort with heavier items.
